Our Pet Sassy

Our Comforter Sassy

If anyone had ever told my husband and I that we would have a pet dog in our home, I would have said no way. Four years ago we went to our neighbors house to see their new litter of Bechon Fries puppies. There were five little white fuzzy puppies in a box. My husband went over to the box and picked one up and said “this is the one we want”. I was so shocked that I stood there with mouth agape. We had never discussed that we would buy one and couldn’t understand why he wanted one. I thought to myself, he must be out of his mind wanting to train and take care of a dog. The one that he picked out was a fuzzy white with apricot color on her ears. She was like a fuzzy little cotton ball. We had to wait six weeks for her to be winged from her mother and get the papers register for her.

We went out bought a cage for us to train her in. We brought her home and the first night she cried and cried. Guess who took her out to potty at three in the morning, me of course as my husband is hard of hearing and didn’t hear her. She wasn’t any problem to train. We kept her in her cage with food and water tray on the side of the cage and took her out on leash every two hours to potty. She was soon trained and we kept her out of the cage then.

She is a little white angel and so sweet and smart. She won my heart over and she has been so good for us. My husband and I are in our seventies and our health is not very good at all. My husband is a very bad diabetic and has had 2 mini strokes. He gets his excises by taking Sassy walking and potty. I have Parkinson diseases and back problems. Sassy doesn’t shed and she has never potty in our house, as we have to leave her alone sometimes all day while we are going to our doctors. She is so glad to see us when we return from wherever we have been.

I fully believe that God led us to buy Sassy as he knew that we needed a little angel to comfort us and play with. She is such a good companion and so smart. At night time we tell her to get her play bone and go to bed. She minds us and off to bed she goes. She sits at night time at the French doors and watch and protect us from anyone that comes upon the deck. She loves for us to rub her tummy and talk to her . We did not breed her as we just wanted to have her and take care of just her.

I would advise any elderly folks to have a pet like her as pets are such a comfort and joy to have. I believe they are good for your health. I have read where nursing homes are having pets brought in for the patients. I know Sassy has been good for us and our health and she has made us so happy. She is just our Baby! I thank God for her and fully believe that he led us to get Sassy.

Here I am trying and learning how to blog. My old mind isn't what it use to be. My daughter help me set up my blog and told me how to do so many things, but my old mind doesn't remember all that she told me.

Yes I am in my Golden Years and I have two sisters that are older than me. Our kids have named us The Golden Girls. My two sisters are in their eightys and still going strong. We often get together and have fun and have some heated arguments. But after all isn't that what sisters are for. I don't know what I would do without my sisters. I really dread the day that the Good Lord takes my two sisters. But yet I may leave before they do. That is up to the Good Lord. I hope I can post a picture of us Golden Girls when I can learn how to put pictures in here. This is just a little bit about me. Will add more later will see if this will go through LOL.
